Hi, brand new. User here.
AMD 10 with dedicated graphics on windows 10 home

Using 2 Logitech 920 1 930e.

I want to record and live stream to a 40 inch TV via HDMI

What would my best codec format selections be?

So far it looks like 720p at 24fps is giving me ok live streaming With 250 milliseconds delay on the aiudio to get it close to synced.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I should probably add that Iam using the HD x64 version.

Well after 2 full days of testing I have settled on MJPEG Encoder AVI. I only see dropped frames when the inputs are switched. The bad news is I only have 2 camera inputs, plus a wireless mic. I will be editing the recording in FCPX and this will import without any extra steps.
If anyone has any suggestions, I am all ears.

@Tom - Just a couple of thoughts that may help.

Logitech webcams are notorious CPU hogs. My C920 will rob up to 10% all by itself. So be careful in using multiple webcams especially if you are on an underpowered PC.

vMix makes very good use of the Nvidia graphics card GTX 750 or higher with Windows 10 Anniversary edition. So, if you are thinking of a h/w upgrade, you might consider one of these graphics cards.

AVI is good for low CPU-use recording but makes very large files. With the above mentioned graphics card/windows combination, you can use the MP4 recording setting with low CPU use and very good file results.

Good luck!

- Tom

All 3 of my Logitech cameras send H.264 to vMix. It would seem to my rookie mind that sending H.264 in and recording in H.264 would be a slam dunk, very light load on CPU or graphics card. But so far using any form of H.264 seems to have a bottleneck somewhere.

Can vmix not just pass the H.264 straight through, or does it transcode for streaming or something.?

H.264 is a cpu demanding codec. You can make your recording use hardware encoding to make it run lighter on your cpu.
