Hi All,
My Church just purchased a PTZOptics 20X HD-SDI Gen 2 camera. We are having some problems connecting the camera via HDMI. I can connect the camera via LAN.

This is our setup
windows 10 computer
1 intensity pro
2 Decklink mini recorder
2 Sony cameras

We want to add 1 PTZoptics HD-SDI camera
We are connecting directly to the computer via the blackmagic cards.
Please help us connect this camera.

Thanks for your help.

Have you installed the Blackmagic Design capture driver and associated software? Can you confirm that the BMD Intensity Pro is installed properly and is receiving video? If so, connect the PTZ cam via HDMI to the BMD/IP. Make sure you use the BMD/IP HDMI Input and not the Output port. Input port is on the end, not the middle. Use BMD Media Express software to verify BMD/IP function and connection to the PTZ. If you don't see it in ME, then you won't see it in vMix. (ME tutorial here:
).

Good luck and please report back your success or questions.

- Tom

Tom offers good advice, I'll also add BMD devices generally hate long HDMI cable lengths, so test with a short 1m lead to start with. Also ensure the Atem configuration in windows control panel is set to the HDMI port and set at the same resolution and framerate of the cameras output.

@sinc747. The BMD decklink mini recorder card is installed properly and receiving video because i can connect my other cameras to it.

@AElli my cable is not long, its 1m and we don't have an ATEM, we connect directly to the computer via the cards.

I can see the camera I can see the PTZ in ME but i can't see it in Vmix.

This is the error I get in Vmix.
@1920x1080 its says its cannot work at this resolution. It say use 720P30(it connects to ME at this resolution). When I use ****x720, it says use a lower resolution like 720x486 29.94/59.94 UVYV, but this does not connect. If I use a larger resolution it gives the error not compatible.

Do you think I need to upgrade the capture card to the new 4K card. I had these cards about 3 years.
Thanks

What version of vMix are you using? ie. Basic SD or HD, Sd or HD? and v15,16 or 17?

By default ptzoptics is set to 1080P50 or P60, this setting is made by dial behind cam, the bmd mini recorder can only use 50i or 25P format, use 1080i50 or 1080p25

best regards from France

Also be sure to use the "Intensity Pro" Camera dropdown option in vMix and ignore the Blackmagic and Decklink options.
We will need to remove those other options in future releases as they tend to cause confusion while the option named directly after the card offers the least amount of hassle.

Ment to say configure "BMD panel" settings in windows control panel not "atem" panel settings. But reading moreso here if camera is set 1080p 50/60 only the newer 4k cards will work with progressive. Earlier cards maxed at 1080i 50/60 try setting to ½ frame rate 1080 25/30 pfs.

Thank you guys for your help. It's up and running. It looks like the card is having problems reading HDMI form the camera. I used the SDI port and it worked at #2(1920x1080i60) on the camera and 1920x1080p30. Thanks again.
