Dear Forum,

I have vMix 17 installed on a win7 Dell Optiplex 7020 (i5 processor, 16 gigs of RAM) and I have vMix set to external render to an AJA Kona Lhi card.

It has been working perfectly for the last year and now for some reason vMix keeps crashing.

It starts up ok, but then as soon as I drag any videos (all under 3 gigs, 1080p mp4s) into vMix, if its more than like 5 videos, it starts to give me a ton of errors, and usually external rendering will stop working.

These are just two examples:

1. DragDrop.DragDrop.I_VMR
Could not Configure VMR.

2.I_VMR
AddNewInput.I_VMR
Creating an instance of the COM component with CLSID {51B4ABF3-748F-4E3B-A276-C828330E926A} from the IClassFactory failed due to the following error: 80040273.

But there are a ton of other errors that happen, some say that Memory is corrupt or that there isnt enough RAM (theres 16 gigs of ram in this computer)

in addition to this things like: ExternalRenderStoppedWorking
Details:unknown

or

DragDrop.DragDrop.INPUTS_AI
File Format Not Supported.

or

DragDrop.DragDrop.AddFile
Please install the Haali Media Splitter to play this file format.

I also have the latest Windows Media Player installed, as well as the Haali Media Splitter.

Please let me know what you think.

-Dave>.

Hi,

The randomness of the errors seems to indicate a memory faulty in the system.
Try running the Windows Memory Diagnostic to see what it says.

Regards,

Hey there Martin,

I don't think its a RAM issue. The diagnostic reported no problems. I took two sticks of RAM out so now its only 8 gigs and these errors are persistent.

Its mainly telling me to install the Haali Media Splitter, but its already installed and its up to date, and I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times.

If you have anymore insight on this please let me know.

We desperately need this software to work for tomorrow.

Thanks.

Try resetting vMix to default settings from Settings -> Default.
The Haali error is just a catch all if it can't open the MP4 file it assumes the Haali isn't installed.

Have you confirmed all the files play correctly in other applications?
