Trying to record in AVI format but i'm getting massive frame drops.

My CPU usage is 20% @ streaming only and 60% with mp4 HIGH record on one camera. When I change to AVI recording on one camera my CPU is 20-23% and massive amounts of frame drops in the recording. No issues in the stream or camera performance. My SSD sould be able to keep up so is there a setting that is wrong?

::::Hardware::::
i7-2600 (4 core - 8 thread)
8GB DDR3
GTX 1060
2 SSDs (os and recording)
multiple HDD for extra storage.
Blackmagic Decklink Quad 2

::::Cameras::::
Sony PWX-X70 (1080p60)
(3) Marshall CV-502 (1080p30)

I stream multibitrate at 720p/30 (2500 & 800)

Any ideas? I've even upgraded to an i7 6700 and new motherboard to see if it was an issue because of old tech, but nope. my drive will be at 44% usage for about 15sec while recording then jump to 100% and start dropping frames like it's a hot potato. I'm using a Patriot Spark 256 SSD with 500MB/s R/W speed.

Using the Blackmagic Disk Speed Test I get good speed at the start of the test. 438.1MB/s write & 499.6 Read. After it runs a couple tests the write speed drops dramatically to 239.9MB/s and some times less.

Please Help!

@ thinkcustom

Although most of the log file is mumbojumbo to ME...
It seems to indicate that the dropped frames are "Due to HardDisk or CPU", so you are probably on the right track in trying to narrow the issue down.
Have you observed any unusual behaviours in "Task Manager" (perhaps one core is maxing out while the others are idle or certain processes are creating a bottleneck)?
The other question I have is have you tried any other codecs?
(I've had good results with Cineform and Magic YUV but it's been awhile since I've tested with any of the others).

Just for kicks I plugged in a HDD to see how it would far compared to the SSD that is acting weird. The harddrive speed tested at 120MB/s much slower then the 500MB/s SSD.

The SSD would perform perfect for about 15sec then would cap speed at around 80MB/s and show 100% utilization. The HDD performed better then the SSD keeping up with it's full speed around 100-120. So I think my SSD is bad, Getting an RMA from the manufacture.

This test would rule out any software issues with vmix in my opinion.

Looks like the drive is just junk. Check out this Amazon review: https://www.amazon.com/P...oduct-reviews/B01J977Y1M

Try a brand name SSD like Samsung or Intel.
