I'd love to be able to trigger an event at a certain time in a video.

For instance at 3 minutes in - transition to a camera... or something like that.

Experiment with the "Triggers" feature.
Use "OnTransitionIn" and "Overlay" functions for easiest results.
Delay is in milliseconds so 3 minutes would be 180000.
Remember, whatever you add as an overlay should probably be removed as well.

Hope that helps.

I can't get the On Transition In trigger working ?
The others work as predicted.

What are you attempting?
Typically with the "OnTransitionIn" Trigger, you can trigger an overlay or other Background tasks like change a Multiview Input or turn off the audio of an Input etc., but AFAIK it will not trigger a transition to another Input, you'll need "OnCompletion" for that, which of course only works on video and audio clips that have an "End Point".

Ice,

I wanted to check that it wasn't finger trouble. This would be a useless thing to
do without a trigger delay involved.

I thought this may be a way to trigger on completion minus the effect duration using the
trigger delay.

Currently TOC is fine for a cut but with a transition the video and audio stops
and your transitioning from a mute freeze frame. Having audio running under the transition
would be smoother as well, even if it's only the clip's atmosphere.

Ideally an additional trigger, `On Completion - Duration' or enter a negative effect
duration into a TOC event. This would also work for the OP's request.

Trigger on completion doesn't work when an overlayed clip is the trigger source.

These triggers are very powerful and something not easily setup or maybe possible
even with EVS replay.

thanks again,
Peter

It can be tricky, and certainly not all things are possible, but an "automated" cross fade can be achieved with delayed "OnTransitionIn" Triggers using "overlays" and subsequently "OnCompletion", transitioning (invisibly) to said Input and removing the overlay. I'm not a big fan of "automation" unless absolutely necessary but the point is, with enough careful and logistical planning, it can be done with the current vMix "Triggers" features.
