In v17 the stored streaming settings and output formats moved from the settings file (.config) to the preset file (.vmix). Sidenote, this is not reflected in http://www.vmix.com/help17/PresetsMenu.html

Sometimes we build up a preset by appending sets of pre-made presets files. This make me wonder how the streaming and recording settings are treated when opening or appending a preset. Compare the Help's "when loading a preset with different resolution or frame rate, user will be prompted to confirm the changes".

To begin with, in the list of available Inputs to check/uncheck there are no entries for the recording, stream, and output settings.

Furthermore, I guess it would be possible to save a preset with no stream settings (none specified). Even so it is unclear if any existing stream settings would be cleared out if a preset with no stream settings is appended. Same concern applies to the recording settings.

Comments, and perhaps changes in how vMix manages this, is highly appreciated.

Just to make sure. "Any settings included with the Preset will be ignored" (from the Help on Open Preset) means that the Recording and Streaming settings are not affected when appending Inputs?
