Titles should be added to the list of media types for the LIST input. Currently the LIST Input supports Video, Audio and Graphics. By adding Titles to the LIST input file types, the User can load a pre-set number of Titles for an input, create an order to suit the production (using the priority Up/Down keys within the LIST dialog), and via the already available shortcuts for the LIST input, select which Title to display using the PreviousItem or NextItem shortcuts.

When you have numerous Titles, having one input for each Title is resource hungry, and makes the vMix interface overcomplicated. The LIST input with Title files is key to simplifying the operation of the production.

Add to that the ability to access the ‘Title Designer’ for the currently selected/displayed Title via a right mouse click context menu would also be an advantage. Then just ‘REFRESH’ the Title input to update those changes made to that Title file.

A three step workflow example:

1. Select the Title Input by right mouse click, and choose the Title required from the displayed List.

2a. Simple modification: Select ‘Title Editor’ from the context menu & modify the data as required.

OR

2b. Advanced modification: Select ‘Title Designer’ from the context menu & modify the text data and/or images as required. Save & Perform an Auto-Refresh of the Title input. If the Title is already ‘On Air’, the updated data/graphics will automatically be shown LIVE as a Cut.

3. Transmission: Select Overlay Keyer On 1-4 as required.

In this workflow example, each Overlay Keyer would have an assigned Overlay channel and Title LIST input.

Title List Input 1, All lower-thirds on Overlay 1;

Title List Input 2, Upper left clocks/sponsor graphics on Overlay 2;

Title List Input 3, Upper right ticker & minor statistics on Overlay 3;

Title List Input 4, Full screen Titles (player profiles, team lists, statistics) with animated backgrounds on Overlay 4.

This separates all the Titles into four defined Lists on four allocated Title Inputs. Each of those four Title inputs are assigned specific tasks. This simplifies the workflow immensely, and speeds up the CG operations.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Good idea. But it is needed also to set time of title or graphics. And grouping titles in packs , then on 4th overlay one can put a group of tiles - timer, logo and other.

Now You can put a graphic in list but it has no possibility to set how long it should be on vision.

+ 1

I think your suggestion will be a useful feature, although I wouldn't recommend making design changes on the fly unless absolutely necessary, so a quick link to the 'Title Designer' might give the false impression that these things are "easy peasy" and standard practice during a live production.
Also, the scenario you present reminds me of a typical use for the 3rd party plug-in "SmartTitler" that fellow vMixer Richard Gatarski has developed (still beta testing). I'm wondering if you have explored that option?

Just before we think further through this FR, have you looked at the capability of the photos input? This allows you to select a folder containing images i.e. png's and display them in a slideshow. Now if you right click over the input you see the images as thumbnails which can then be activated by clicking on the image.The folder is "watched" so you can use an external program to generate/edit the images.

Will this do some/all of what you want?
