Apparently there will be a major update to Windows 10 pushed out on the world on August 2nd. You might want to make sure your Windows 10 Updates do not automatically install. Also might want to wait until Martin has checked out vMix with this major update before you update your production PC.

Yea that's awesome. August 2nd is a Tuesday, which is when we do our live show. Now that I have 4 computers for the show, all running Windows 10, what are the odds I keep all of them from upgrading until after the show.

Via Control Panel > Administrative Tools, you can access Services. In the Services window, scroll down to Windows Update and turn off the process. To turn it off, right-click on the process, click on Properties and select Disabled. That will take care of Windows Updates not being installed on your machine until you are ready for it.

Some underlining systems will turn the update service back on if seen off so MSDN says the best way to do it is go to Settings > Network & Internet > Advance Options and turn on Metered Connection. This also will minimize background services using up bandwidth on your box and MS won't download any update unless you manually do so. Gives you a little more control and its by design so Windows Defender or any other security service won't go and enable the disabled service and your right back where you were.

But if the system doesn't have WiFi, then Win 10 does not display the Metered Connection option through Settings > Network & Internet etc.

The fix going through Control Panel > Administrative Tools as Mathijs suggested seems to hold up. I made that change months ago, and haven't had any issues with Windows Defender or other programs re-enabling automatic installing updates and reboots.
