Hi!

I'm having some issues with the instant replay function in vmix 17. It appears to record replays OK, but when playing them back it studders really badly. When I review the video that is recorded it is also studdering.

I've tried adjusting the quality of the video, my vmix session, camera input quality, nothing helps.

The replays go to a Samsung 500gb 850 evo drive. I've also tried a Raid 0 with two ssds, didn't help. Video card is an evga gtx 960 super clock and a core i7-6500 CPU.

Suggestions on places I could start looking to make this work?

Can you post some video that shows your problem?
Also post a logfile of a replay recording.

I've put up a video of what a replay looks like here: Test Replay 1

If I set the replay to record the Output, no problem. Smooth as can be.

Looks like the cameras are 720p59.94 but you have added them to vMix as 720p29.97, can you confirm?
The frame rate needs to match the source at all steps for smooth playback.
thanks 1 user thanked admin for this useful post.

I thought that I had everything set to 30fps across the board. Looking at the log that I posted, is this the line that tell me this could be the problem?

2016-06-29 14:52:12, -SourceTooFast: 7204

I'll setup tomorrow and try it out at 59.94fps 720p across the board.

Yes, the settings for both replay and when adding the camera need to match what the camera is actually sending over SDI/HDMI.

Hey look at that! Setting everything to 720p 59.94fps across the board works perfectly.

Thanks for the help!
