Fresh install of vMix 17.0.0.85 on recently refreshed Win10.

I tried to go into record settings, but vMix hangs up (Not Responding).
As record settings were not yet setup, knowing that hitting the record button would tell me this, I re launched and clicked the Record button, and again it hung up.

External settings and button work ok, as does the normal settings button in the top right corner of the display.

Stream settings come up, but the multicorder settings button also causes hangup.

Haven't noticed any other hangups.

Went on to install 16.0.0.115, but same problem.
It's like something didn't install correctly and can't be resolved.

Any suggestions what to try next?

This means a codec on the system is causing vMix to freeze.
Have you installed matrox drivers on the system in the past by any chance? As I know some of their codecs freeze when no matrox device is installed.
thanks 1 user thanked admin for this useful post.

Sounds fixable then!
I didn't think so, but opened system info, exported it to a txt file, did a text search, and sure enough, I had Matrox VFW Software codecs installed 5-31-16. Uninstalled them, and it appears my complaint is now resolved! Thanks Martin!

Now I have to figure out what installed them, and if it still works.
