Rank: Advanced Member Groups: Registered Joined: 8/2/2013(UTC) Posts: 462 Thanks: 38 times Was thanked: 39 time(s) in 35 post(s)		I think FMLE always did this: I would like to have the option to save the live encoded video from a livestream without enabling the record option, just save the data while streaming, same bitrate, same frame drops if there are any. Shouldn't be a problem CPUwise because it doesn't have to do any extra encoding. Regards, Patrick

FMLE records only in one. And it imposes additional strain on CPU resources.

The built in Recorder gives you the widest choice of codecs/framerates/bitrates etc. It gives you have a choice of using ffmpeg. Unless you use an external recorder or computer, recording will always increase overhead. It is unclear why you don't want to use the internal recording option, so if I have missed anything, let me know. Maxi

I want to record internally, but with my ffmpeg streaming settings. Last saturday I forgot to click the record button, so the only complete program recording was the low bitrate Facebook Live stream. I want that it also records my livestream on my local machine, when I start a livestream (same bitrate and same settings as the livestream). The record option is something I want to use as a backup, if there are any frame drops in the livestream or if I also want to record it with different settings.

Would that be possible?

In addition to the software he mentioned, Wirecast and OBS offer this feature. If the Record and Stream encoding settings are the same, the software will save a copy to your drive and not use double the CPU power for what is essentially the same task. Often, there is an option to lock your recording settings to your stream settings in software, eliminating any discrepancy in the event that you want this synchronization to be general policy.

I have lots of jobs at which I need a recording like this so the client can watch it and let us know what to edit out or correct.
