Greetings Everyone,

I visited the Skype forum first but it didn't appear many questions were being addressed.

I've tried several cameras but all of them, in Skype setup, show a 4:3 output. I've even had Skype callers mention their video they were seeing a chopped off on the sides which leads me to think they may be only seeing 4:3 video.

Does anyone know how I might be able to get true 16:9 video out of Skype?

Thanks in advance,
GeorgeR

I crop it to 16:9 and tell my caller to chill out.

I do the same thing a crop the image. Skype is only 16:9 (HD) while it's a 2 person call. Once the 3rd person is added, it drops out of HD and goes to the 4:3 format and can't be changed back to HD. This actually works good for me from a bandwidth standpoint because while I have 100Mb down, I only have 5Mb up. With 2 people on a Skype call, my upload can go to 3Mb or higher. Once the 3 person joins, it drops to under 1Mb up.

Hangouts don't do this and remain HD if there is enough bandwidth. This has caused me a problem in that the Hangout can suck up all of my upload before I even start the streaming.
