Hi Martin,

I have successfully utilized a 4K to USB3 InoGenie device with vMix on my laptop. With vMix setup to output in 720p mode, I was able to create several virtual inputs from this one 4K input at various zoom and position settings. Thus, with my touch screen laptop, I've almost been able to recreate a virtual multi-camera switching capability like the Mevo system. The only thing I can't do like Mevo is pinch to zoom and re-position.

Is this something you might be able to add in the preview monitor?

Hi RJ,

+1 for Your feature request

Because you are so shy let me publish link to video you created www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tzyaR0bJhI

I was impresed with it. Just tried broadcasting some press conferences on facebook using HD camera and creating few SD shots. And I was looking for some 4K camera and 4K pci-e capture card not realizing that there is one for usb3.

I have one question: what is your laptop specification (CPU, GPU, RAM)?

RJ,
We got one of those Inogenis, but at 4K it can only do 24p. Using a Panasonic GH4 in 4K at 24p, the resulting video in a 24p for a 1080 production on a powerful desktop was not good enough for us (some intermettent stuttering besides being 24p). Will try 720p later, as well as compare with Intensity Pro 4k.

Also, the Inogeni does not like PAL at 4K.

Meanwhile, I am curious about the same as r@wisla.

Just read an article last week about this type of setup in Vmix. We have done it in the past on other systems, so looking forward to trying this on a new pc build for vmix.

While that article is interesting, provide many tips, and promotes vMix - it contains a technical error. Actually falls into the trap of a common misunderstanding.

A 4K (2160) source for a Full HD (1080) production will only allow you a 2X zoom without loss. To learn more, see for example Snapsort's page on Optical zoom
