This is a question for the vMix developers.

In our last production we managed to insert a USB audio device in another USB port than it usually is connected to. Consequently (because Windows seems to have different paths to the same h/w depending on which port is used) we needed to change the Audio Output setting. Unfortunately we discovered this while live. And this change seems to require a vMix re-start - not so good when we were live. I can easily foresee a number of other situations where it would be nice to change the Audio outputs when live.

Since it is possible to change audio ports "live" in other apps (eg Skype) I wonder, could that not also be possible in vMix?

If I correctly understand the situation you described, I've have brought the USB audio device in by using Add Input. Then no restart is necessary. After that, the first occurrence of the USB audio device that isn't functioning correctly can be closed.

So do I frequently, but this issue is about Audio Output ;)
