In Title Designer, I have found that the property ‘ZIndex’ in the properties menu does not always honour its Index. Generally, the higher the ZIndex, the greater the foreground precedence an object or control will have. To test this by example, create a TextBox and assign a ZIndex value of ‘2’. Now create and load an Image, and place that Image over the TextBox. By default, the new Image will be assigned the ZIndex of ‘0’.

The outcome being, even though you can see the contents of the TextBox, the TextBox cannot be selected or edited in front of the Image, and is therefore inaccessible.

It’s unfortunate that there is no ‘Text’, ‘WordWrap’ or ‘MultiLine’ property for the TextBox control in the vMix Title Designer for short passages of text. A sentence, phrase or verse. vMix version 18.0.0.80.

Hi,

You are correct that the ZIndex applies to the rendering order, not necessarily the selection order as you have discovered.
This is a bug that can be fixed, but in the mean time you can edit the xaml in notepad manually and put the elements in the zindex order
so they can be edited that way as well.

Regards,

Martin
