Having some issues getting a good HD recording. Trying to record our live stream in 1920x1080 and the file is very jumpy. I'm assuming the codec is not keeping up. CPU usage during recording is below 20% and we have 32 gig of ram.

Does anyone know of the codec we should be using to get a good quality file?

Computer specs:
i7 Intel core 4.0
32 gig ram
Windows 8.1

Thank you for your help in advance!

Three questions:

- What recording codec are you using?

- Is the CPU usage 20 percent monitoring vMix or Task Manager?

- i7 is a i7 4790K?

Thanks

We tried all the codecs that come with vMix. The 20% monitoring comes from vMix at the bottom where it shows CPU load and that number is during recording not at idle. The i7 is a i7 6700k

Hi,

What sort of a graphics card is installed in the system?
A good graphics card is critical for smooth recordings.

We have been having issues getting the graphics card installed but was able to compete that today and the recording is now perfect even in full HD! To answer the question, we are using a Nitro R9 380 4gig graphics card. Now that is up and running all is good!

Thanks for the help guys!
