I am having trouble adding a firewire camera into vMix.

1. I select Add Input -> Camera.
2. I select the camera name in the dropdown list: "Microsoft DV Camera and VCR"
3. I adjust the other settings as best I know how, and click OK.

I get an error message: "There was no match for the specified key in the index."

Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong? Searching for this error, the camera, and firewire did not turn up anything helpful.

Camera: Panasonic HVX-200A P2 on its own firewire card running legacy drivers.
vMix: 16.0.0.115 x64 trial.
OS: Win7 Pro 64bit
Computer: Intel Xeon 2.13 GHz, 32GB RAM.

Thanks,
Brett

Not sure what your specific issue is with firewire, but I can confirm that DV still works over firewire in vMix 16.0.0.115. I successfully connected my Canon GL2 using the 720x480 resolution.

Thank you. We gave up on the firewire camera. After two days of effort we had no success. We also gave up on firewire sound - too much static, though that was probably the equipment. Sticking with Ephiphan SDI2USB and DVI2USB, which work fine, and USB to sound board. We are continuing our testing.

@ BrettMitchell

Although you've found an alternate solution, I'm curious to know if the camera was recognized by any other programs on your system through firewire?
The SD signal in DV format should work, but AFAIK, the HVX200 does not output HD over Firewire, if perhaps that is what you were attempting.

@IceStream: The ability of Windows to recognize the camera varied by the hour. Sometimes the Roxio program would open, when the firewire camera was pugged in, which in the past would indicate that the camera was ready for streaming. But not this time. Sometimes Windows spent an hour looking for drivers before I cancelled. Sometimes nothing would happen at all. Again, I think this is simply because I am ignorant about cameras and have no support here for that. Your comment would doubtless help; it reminds me of things I've heard in the past. I did try to get it into DV format, but even with the manual never figured out how.

Thanks, Brett
