hi Martin,
I had an experience today captured mpeg 2, audio ok, but no video.
first captured no problem. but later captured, no video when played but the audio is ok. course with the same settings. I go in properties capturing the results, it turns out there is no data frame width, frame height, and frame rate. on the data rate and the total bitrate is also different to the normal value.
what is this error lies in vmix, or windows error?

sorry if my english bad.

thanks

You say you wanted to capture mpg but the top bar on your windows shows capture.AVI !

I have seen something similar and this happens in the recording setup:

You have to carefully select the mpg tab and choose mpg or TS and then press OK: then you will see that the file name extension that is used for the capture will change from avi to mpg (or ts)

There is a way to THINK you changed to mpg but in fact the extension is still set to AVI.

I made it as a rule to open the recording setup once more to check, correct if needed and accept again.

And just as a test: you might try to change the extension of your existing avi to mpg and see what happens.

hi Rob,
Thanks for his suggestion.
If you see the words "capture.avi Nov 23, ....", it's just a paper title. but the actual extension results, "capture.avi - November 23, 2012 - 02-34-17. mpg" file extension indicates that capture is.mpg (mpeg files)
If we open it in MPEG-2 recording settings, when clicking the "Browse" there's only one option, namely Extension "AVI Files" no "MPEG Files", or also the other.
I did this before, with no problems.
