I am using vmix 16 with a black magic shuttle intensity usb3.0 with composite video as I cant seem to get the HDMI to work. I havent tried component yet, but may if that is suggested. My question is I seem to be limited on the choices for the input size and end up using 720x486 29.97. I end up using my outpout size at 768x432 to get it widescreen, and stream size 854x480. I am thinking I should have these sized closer to my input size maybe 720x405 for both the output and stream size, or shoul done be larger than the other?

@ 321actionvideo

What is your input? (Camera or other video signal)
I would explore all the options available to you with the BM Shuttle but would think that the HDMI should give you the best picture, so I would focus on trying to get that to work.
(I've never been fond of BMD's composite renderings, I found mine to be blocky or pixelated when output through my Intensity Pro)
Can you provide a 'Screenshot' to better illustrate how "Bad" it looks?

Here is a sample stream. I started at full screen and it looked real bad, then shrunk the video size at about 13 min mark and was better.

Hello 321,

You've got several things working against you.

-The composite out of the camera is going to be bad to start with, Not just by definition, SD only composite analog signal the lowest of the low, but cameras like that spend very little $$ on their CV output circuitry as that's not really what it's designed for.

-Black Magic's composite inputs are notoriously bad. Kinda the same thing, SD analog is not really their market and as such I don't think they concentrate too many resources on it.

-You are taking your analog SD signal and then up-rezzing it 480p for streaming. This is going to introduce even more noise and blocking into your already iffy signal.

My advice, FWIW, do whatever it takes to get the HDMI input working. As you are chopping off your legs before you even start the race by using composite out of that nice camera.

Good luck.

-Jim
