Hello all
I am new to the forum but not Vmix and have been working on PC systems for the Faith Based Community that won't break the bank in both Audio and Video
Below is what we came up with that just screams stable performance.
16 processors 24gigs of ram
We run it with multicorder on 3 HD 1080 cams and capturing a full 1080 mix all in mpeg2 plus streaming set to 720p. The system never uses more than 12% of cpu and is stable @30fps all day. Some may say its an overkill but the unit just does its job at idle.
Recording all at H264 will push the cpu's to 55%

I've had similar experience with a couple of Dell T7500 workstations. I upgraded the processors to 3.06 GHz versions and it just purrs along at near idle for vmix or just about anything video related.

Hi
I would be pleased for some advice. I recently purchased a T5500 Hex core from ebay (STAG CGTC15J) which arrived pretty well as original with SAS riser and Quadro 4000 GPU. It passed all the self diagnostic tests. I removed the SAS header and installed an SSD, reinstated its W7 and upgraded to W10 asnd added a BMD Decklink mini recorder card. All went well until I loaded vMix and tried to run it. The PC just went dead with no warning.
Now when I plug in the power I dont get that re-assuring whirring that tells me the PSU self diagnostics are good. When I press the button it glows orrange, 1 & 2 flash green and it cuts out. I have changed the PSU and the fault remains even with everything I can reach unpulled from the mobo, memoroy, drives etc.
This is tough because I had planned to send the machine to a Church in Africa.
Any suggestion would be welcome

hi there, thanks for the tip, but I notice that your spec says two quad core CPUs how did you get to 16, does it have four CPU slots?

The 5500 will not work with BM cards. Found out the hard way.
