Hi all,

I have tried WMv streaming before for local viewing but would like to have more streaming capabilities for use on intranet / local network sites at the venue where I record. I don't want to go through internet for local viewing to avoid network capabilities issues.

I can see several applications:

local intranet broadcast - for viewing in other rooms in the same building

wifi streaming of parts of the recording (p.e. only the powerpoint input) through a local wifi hub.

monitoring vmix - in combi with the vmix wifi control

i know I can purchase additional intranet-server sollutions but I guess vmix is just one little step away from implementing this internally. This would mean that you can:

record and broadcast locally on one machine or
record on machine 1 and use machine 2 for broadcast on the local network used

WMV streaming is a little bit limited for this purpose... Streams should be vieable on an intranet page or directly or via something like VLC player or with its own local vmix adress directly...

greetings,
Stefan

VMix already has RTMP/RTSP streaming capabilities which is perfect for local streaming. Just use Unreal Media Server and set up a RTMP server.
