We have a use case for using vMix on a laptop on the road with another required browser open at the same time. Needless to say - fitting both vmix and a stretched browser onto a workspace at the same time is a bit of a challenge - fairly requiring full HD display.
It seems like the interface shrinks down only so much width-wise (appears to be 1200px fixed width) - with no ability to shrink/scale down the preview and output windows to be able to decrease the required width. Can I verify this is true as I've dug through every setting I can think of.

Not knowing what the importance of the browser is in your setup there are a couple of easy things you can do. 1, ALT+TAB to change the view on your desktop between vMix and the browser as desired. 2. Connect a second monitor or small TV via HDMI and view the vMix interface on the second screen via the Full Screen option in vMix and the browser on your laptop. You'll still need to use ALT+Tab on you laptop to bring the vMix interface back to the top to change what you want in your output screen. ~George

Thanks George. The scenario is we run live webcasts where we have a web app that handles PowerPoint slide synchronization to seminars thus it's generally desired to have both interfaces up at all times as both are critical to running a program. As it is, our web app is mobile responsive but given that it has only 880px width after vmix takes over 1200px - it's not a huge amount of real estate but get the job done with full HD monitor.
I guess ideally once would be able designate sizes for the preview and output windows - such as 100%, 75%, 50%, 25% so that if these were smaller - vmix interface would scale down width-wise also. Doesn't appear to be an option but was just checking.

I have a USB Monitor that I can connect to my laptop to add another screen for browsers, etc. They typically use the Displaylink technology. Works well. Newegg USB Monitor Link

The display on my 3 year old Lenovo X1 Carbon only resolves 1600 x 900 pixel, driven by a rather limited Intel HD Graphics 4000 display adapter.
However, it does have a Display Port output, so I typically just add a second monitor via a DP-to-HDMI cable. It can drive the external monitor at 1920x1080 and its internal display as well. Together they provide enough real estate to have a Hangout open along side vMix.
