Movi Camera Link

Anyone know if this camera can be incorporated into a vMix system. There isn't much information out about it and Livestream has traditionally created hardware that is proprietary to their system. The concept looks interesting.

I've been checking out that camera. I really don't see how making cutouts of a 4k image will be beneficial. Even on a small budget 2 or 3 hd camera's would always be cheaper and produce better results. In the end you there's not many situations I can come up with, where different framing makes for a better result. It's more the angles that make a livestream or captation interesting to watch in my opinion.

Those on a budget are much better off buying something like the Canon R60 ($239 on Amazon) and a Magewell dongle ($299)
and use the laptop you already have to create an amazing full HD production with vMix!

Cropping such a tiny 4K sensor isn't going to look that great in my opinion.
I always have to laugh when I see ads for these types of products where the video "seen" by the product was actually shot with a professional
digital cinema camera and then heavily post produced with film like color grading!

Guys, if you want to go cheap, check out the xiaomi yi, we just bought 6 of them for a 360 degrees camera, and they got clean hdmi out.. for 65$..

If you're a bit handy, you can even mount a C or CS mount lens on them in order to get rid of the fisheye, and get a zoom or prime lens instead at 20$.

With hacking software like XYC you can control almost every parameter of that camera..

I don't see why you would go amateur if you can go pro for the same money.

Even though this technology is really looking cool, I would just never recommend it to anyone. Everyone with a bit of livestreaming experience, knows that it's a bad idea to do it with a phone, that has limited or no control over parameters of the camera at all. A bit of counter light, low light, bad internet connection or another technological issue and your production is useless..

Also: iphone only.. For the price of an iphone 6 i build a rig that handles vmix with 2 hd inputs :)

They had better made some app that takes a sample from the phone's internal camera. That would be even cheaper, and probably the quality would be almost the same if we're talking about the newest iphones and some flagship models of other brands.
