Hi All,
I haven't tried out vMix yet, but it looks like it might be the solution I am looking for.
I am a single op, mobile DJ. I was looking to step up my live event presentations. Here is what I am looking to do.
Output to a single TV or projector (for now) a blend of photo slide shows (for sweet 16s, weddings, etc) and then either live event images from a DSLR with an eyefi card to a dedicated laptop and/or one or two goPro or Logitech C920 web cams on poles pointed at the dancefloor. On the bottom of the screen would be a persistent title message about the event "Congrats Ellen and John" type title.
To add some life to the video of the dance floor, I was thinking of blending video sprite loops or something. Or are there filters and effects that can be done in real time (such as bends, warps, flipping, solarization, etc) that vMix offers?
Another thing I would like to do is be able to have guests tweet their own pics to a dedicated hashtag (#ellenandjohn2016) and then pick the images up and incorporate them too (I would want to preview before adding them, just to make sure they are appropriate).
My laptop would be connected to a mobile wifi hotspot (my phone).
Would I need external hardware for this type of set up? Any other tips or suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
Pete

Some pretty cool ideas there! vMix is quite an amazing piece of software, but you will likely have to add some workarounds to accommodate your desires. In addition to the special effects filters and tweeting abilities you are looking for, the only other issue you might have is the "latency" of your display in a live situation. The best advise is to take the 60 day free trial to experiment and test to your hearts content... If there are features you would like to see, the developers are always open to new ideas that are contributed in the "Feature Request" thread and in many cases are implemented in relatively short order if feasible.
Welcome to the forum Pete and keep us all up-to-date as to how you are making out.
