VMIX 16 wont shut down, can't kill process

Not a massive issue, but a bit annoying as having to do lots of reboots, but VMIX suddenly wont shut down. What is worse is when you do manage to 'kill' the application (Through Task Manager), the process is still running, and nothing will kill it - believe me I have tried every tool and trick in the book - including kill process and kill process tree intask manager, kill in Command Line, and several tools that claim the will kill any locked process (Found some very handy free tools for system admins / power users at www.sysinternals.com) To the untrained eye you would think VMIX had closed, but secretly in the background its hogging almost 4Gb of DRAM, you CAN launch a second copy of VMIX, but it acts crazy as hell, probably because the 'secret' crashed copy is holding all the resources. This happens even from a default, clean load of vmix without any presets, and with a fully loaded 120 input configuration. Now I will suspect that its probably a third party driver, as VMIX is normally as solid as a rock. Any Ideas? Keith

Man, that sounds like a fun challenge to solve. I would try to figure out the problem by altering the configuration you're loading.
1) Could vMIx have problems with more than 99 inputs? It depends on how to load/unload routines are built. I doubt this is the case, but it would be easy to test.
2) Could vMix have a memory/thread/logic issue related to a bit register? Arrays can be huge, but with all the meta data that lives in the inputs, could vMix be pushing those limits?
Both of these could be tested by reducing the number of inputs on your load config down to ~90.
3) Could a specific input be utilizing a driver that isn't loading/unloading correctly? This is the most probable, and also easy to check. just comment out types of inputs in your load config, until you see a difference.
As you test, keep us posted. I'm VERY interested in your issue.
Also... I REALLY would like to see your load config. How the heck do you have a production with 100+ inputs!?! :)

Hi Keith,
If a program wont close in Task Manager it means a driver is preventing it from closing, usually a problematic
capture card that gets stuck and won't allow any program that used it to close.

Yeah guessed it would be a driver - just wish I could figure out which one. It not my 'preset' as the issue exists without loading any presets (i.e just load vmix without any preset's). I'm using 2 x Decklink Quads (Input Channels) and 1 x Declink Duo (Output Channels), not sure which version of the drivers I have on the Decklinks, but probably only a month old. I also have a complex set of ASIO and WDM audio drivers, and Virtual Audio Cables (Which are psudo devices - and the top of my suspect list). Ill try and isolate which one is causing the shut-down issue. Interestingly I can RESTART Vmix (after changing something in the config) and this gives me the ability to restart VMIX when I have issues I need to sort out, without rebooting every time.
