This my be a deal killer in our question to find a Wirecast replacement. We have our studio sound go through our mixing board then to a PreSonus Audio Box 22VSL. vMix recognizes the audio for a moment but then takes over and freezes the audio and the audio stops working. Nothing on the system that requires audio will work. When trying to access the Audio Input section in vMix the following error appears: The requested resource is in use. (Excpetion of HRESULT: xxx). It appears that the audio device is locked. Only a reboot seems to free the device but then we're back to round 1 with trying to get vMix to recognize our audio box.

Try going straight from your mixer to the audio input on the soundcard of your PC. If that works the issue is with the Presonus drivers. vMix uses the windows sound system so I suspect there are conflicts elsewhere as well.

Are you running the PreSonus software Virtual StudioLive or Studio One Artist at the same time as vMix?
