For those that got in early to download vMix 8 there has been a small update that fixes two issues with the Titles.
The new version is 8.0.0.48 instead of 8.0.0.46, so if you have the older version, please download it again!

hi martin,

testing 8.0.0.48... great job martin, vmix is absolutely amazing. at once, all is running fine and stable. just some simple fixes would be necessary. remebering that i`m using vmix x64:

1. desktop capture aspect ratio doesn`t load properly with preset when source is 4:3 in case to work with widescreen output (1920x1080 in my case);
2. audio mixer is not loading with preset;
3. recording audio meter does not showing in audio mixer if user don`t confirm recording setup settings or start button, even "Automatically Setup Recording With Previous Settings" is ticked.
4. would be great if adding new desktop capture source user could select as audio source an audio device from the audio devices list of the end target computer;

thank you martin for your hard work on vmix, this new v8 is simply amazing, well done.

regards,
melody

Hi Martin, Thanks for the Latest release.

I've installed V8 on my machine and so far after some brief testing of both 64bit and 32 bit versions, I have found the same fault.

So far I've only used some flash video files as inputs, and have found that neither the master audio meter in the centre or the individual input meters function. If I set up my record, and start that, then the recording Vu lights up and seems fine..

Thanks for implementing type 2 avi, that will save me some valuable time once I get to editing after the streams.

Shall be testing quite a bit over the next few weeks, before my next stream with it all...hoping I've finally got my audio record issues sorted. Shall report back

thanks again

Ticker settings (font, size) are lost if preset is saved while ticker is in motion. Text is saved by hitting the +, but nothing else.

Hi John,

Adobe Flash does not provide a means of measuring the audio levels which is why they appear blank.
Where possible I would recommend converting any flash files with audio you may have to another format as flash is not all that versatile and the feature is mainly there
for cases where a conversion would not be possible (such as for lower thirds etc)

Martin

hi martin,

thank you for this new fixes. Desktop Capture Aspect Ratio is perfectly now. however...

1. audio mixer for recording is not appearing when using the automatic configuration option. i stil need to click "setup -> ok" buttons to see it.
2. master audio meter is always showed even i untick "Show master audio meter in main window"

out of it, this new v8 is working very well. thank you again martin, you always do a huge amazing job.

v8 looks so amazing. might be more perfect when in the "manual transition" option of adding other effects not just "fade"

The Manual Transition uses whatever the first button is configured as (the one after Cut). So change this to change the manual effect.

Shortcut for video delay only saves one frame of video. If you press the save button on the input it will save the correct time video it is set for, but using the shortcut only saves one frame. It doesn't matter what you have set for the amount of time.

Hi Greg,

Have you set the duration for the shortcut in milliseconds? I.E to save 20 seconds it will need to be set to 20000

Hi, Martin.
vMix v8 great job.

Some questions:

1. Added in a future version of the requirements:
If the end of the video playback PGM window, Preview window video automatic switching function.
(Using a short intro video is very useful.)

2. About recommended for recording h.264
cineForm codecs can not be used in vMix(x64), we are looking for an alternative.
Good suggestions on your h.264 solution, we expect.

A small update to vMix 8 has been released (version 8.0.0.51)
Fixes the following issues:

1. Error importing settings from older versions of vMix
2. Video List loaded from preset starts from the second video instead of first.

Hi, Just a quickie to say, thx for the reply firstly and secondly....during my day of testing today had no problems, I like the new capture where it shows you computers on the network..certainly makes having to remember ip addresses a lot nicer..lol

Records were fine, and have to say using an analogue audio desk, via compressor into a Splitter, and datavideo 4ch desk and then into Vmix via my blackmagic extreme3d had no noticeable delay issues..
Also have installed the free version on a machine that I've upgraded to Windows 8 and that seems fine as well.

Had an audio issue with my WMV recording. Audio was delayed by 133 frames even though my delay is set to 0 using Vmix Audio.

Could some V7 settings be causing an issue?

Do you think I should completely uninstall VMix and then reinstall? I have have V7 on the computer.

How did you determine the delay to be 133 frames? That would be around 4 to 5 seconds, is the audio ahead or behind the video?
A small clip of the issue might make it easier to determine what is happening.

Settings from a previous version would not affect the recording.

Martin

The audio was delayed by 133 frames. This was how many frames I had to slide the audio during editing to put it back in sync. It did not drift and once the audio was shifted and it stayed in sync. You'll also notice the log file is missing the top section that shows the video and audio settings. This happened to the log file the previous time I reported an unusable audio issue. V7 has never had any sync issues and a 0 frame delay in the WMV record setup was always in sync.

Here is a link to a clip:
http://famous-pictures.c..._Pictures_Sync_Error.zip

I would think that because no one else has reported this WMV record issue that it may be specific to my setup, which is why I was considering a clean install.

Thanks again for your attention!
