Hi there,

Been using vmix since 2012 and very pleased with the feature set and steady development of new features.

One issue I've noticed is how an instance of TextHD.xaml will often lose its settings and revert to default upon copying a preset file. Typically, I duplicate a vmix project directory containing vmix preset files and associated media. Then, I'll rename the files to a new project date.

I haven't tested or identified any common factors affecting this bug.

Hope that helps. Let me know if I can supply a sample file to help.

Best,

Michael

Michael,
I don't exactly understand which settings you loose. Could you please exemplify by describing a typical scenario?
And also tell us which version of vMix you are using.

I (think) we manage our projects in a similar fashion as you do. And we have one issue that might be related to yours. Please see the discussion on Problem with title background file location information

Thanks.

Hi Richard,

To clarify. I've experienced this issue through several versions. I'm currently on 16.0.0.71.

Stated another way;

o I'll add the TextHD title to a vmix preset, delete any characters in the Title field and use the Message field for a lower-thirds super.

o That vmix preset is within a show directory with its visual elements.

o I'll copy that show directory to a new one in preparation for the next episode, change the names of the directory and vmix preset file.

o Randomly, when I open the newly copied/named preset, my changes to the TextHD title have been lost and it has reverted to the default settings.

Hmmm, I can't replicate it (since it's "random").

But, try to make sure that you actually save the new text in the Title input.

First, if you have not, read in the help http://www.vmix.com/help16/Title.html, under the "Title Presets".

Then, after you have deleted the default message text, and added the text you want, click the black "+" sign to add it to the title, close the Title input's Editor window, and save your preset (when you want to save it).

Hope this might help. Please let me know if it does (not).
