Hoping someone will have some insight on this. I used a Muxlab HDMI over IP extender 2 weeks ago. The encoder was connected to a Nanobeam19 5M and the decoder was connected to another Nanobeam19 5M. We captured the video using a Magewell HDMI>USB3 card. Worked great.

Last week I found out just before the game that it was not working. I tried testing today and same thing. I can see the image on my Liliput monitor but if I try to capture the video via the Magewell or my Blackmagic Decklink quad, nothing.

I also tested my Paralinx Triton with 30dbi directional antennas and that should be a pretty sweet setup for one end zone. I only have one set so that is why I am trying to use the other system for the other endzone. I have emailed Muxlab to ask their thoughts but I wanted to toss this out there in case any of you have ever come across something similar.

Thanks!

Tim

No idea how to fix it, but it's a great idea to try this :)

I would love to follow up a possible fix, it probably introduces some latency, but this hack might be the golden idea to get cheap wireless video.

Lttaidv,
Several things to report.
The setup:
Sony CX220 camera on 3 axis gimbal with RC controller for gimbal and zoom control of camera. HDMI out of camera going to Muxlab HDMI over IP encoder. One endzone using Muxlab encoder to Nanobeam 19 AC. The other is using a Paralinx Triton with 30dbi TP-Link directional antennas.
We are using a Rocket AC on the pressbox to receive the signal from the Nanobeam in a PTMP configuration. I got the idea for this setup from this article:
http://blog.newtek.com/t...nals-from-the-boondocks/

They did it for live broadcast TV so I knew we could do it for endzone cameras. We have power outlets available for both endzones but when we travel I will use a 12v battery with converters to power the cameras and Nanobeams. The cameras are on 20' camera poles.

Issues and/or mistakes I made:
1. I have several inexpensive cameras that I use for static scoreboard shots, and stuff like that. I thought I had them all set the same (720p/60p) but this one was not. So that was error number one.

2. I never could get the video to come in through my Blackmagic Decklink Quad but I was successful with the Magewell HDMI>USB capture card and the Startech HDMI>USB capture card, BUT only if I used an HDMI splitter. We used this successfully in a ballgame the first time we ran it but in my home testing I did not use a splitter since the video was not being split to 2 computers. After alot of frustration decided to add a splitter for kicks and giggles and that solved it. So the splitter must be doing something to the signal but I am not sure what. The Decklink Quad would not take the feed with or without the splitter.

So maybe someday I will find out why it can't be captured on the Blackmagic card. Until then I will bring our pressbox cameras into the Decklink Quads and the remote endzone cameras into 2 HDMI>USB capture cards.

As far as latency, probably about 200-300ms. For what we do that is a non issue. If anyone is doing something similar post up so we can share ideas.
