Updated tonight to v16.0.0.86 from within vMix. Once the download completed and the update began, the update process closed my Chrome Browser window. I lost all entry into a blog, I can recreate that. Might not be so easy for someone else.

Anybody else have the same experience?

Hi Tom,

As with installing most programs, vMix requires all applications to be closed before installing.
Otherwise it will have to close those programs in order to install important files.

Regards,

Martin

Ah, Martin, but of course. I guess I was taken by surprise without a warning of some sort.

Chalk that one up to experience.

Cheers!

Tom, doesn't the installer tell you it needs to close programs? I thought it did. Of course if you use the update link from within vMix this screen is not shown.

Just posted an update to vMix that includes a new updater that provides a warning message before continuing.
This won't show the message when updating to this release, but all releases then on should provide the warning.

I just upgraded to .87 and it did the same thing, killed my Chrome without warning. I will know to check everything before updating. No biggee, just wanted to let you know it still occurred on this update.
