Dear vMix Community team,
we currently use vMixHD 15 and have an image issue when connecting a camera via Firewire with the vMix PC.
Basically, our setup consists out of 2 HD cameras via SDI input (Blackmagic DeckLink Duo) Now we needed a third camera input but did not have a third SDI IN, so we tried to connect the cam via Firewire to the PC. The camera operates in 720x576 SD PAL 16:9.
The connection itself works fine. But the video resolution is recognized as 720x480px and cannot be changed. The camera image in vMix looks broken and scrambled up. The center area of the image is correct but the outer areas contain overlapping layers and are mixed up.
What could be the reason for that behavior? Is it possible that the firewire video resolution in vMix is hard coded for NTSC video and therefore makes problems?
Thanks for every suggestion!
Greetings from Germany
André

@ saxonytv
Are there no options at all for 'Resolution', 'Frame Rate' and 'Video Format' when selecting the camera for 'Input'? Once selected. what are your 'Settings' for "Aspect Ratio" of the camera 'Input' (cog wheel/General/Aspect Ratio)? You may have to 'stretch' the image by selecting "Widescreen". Not ideal, but you can also "zoom" into the image to 'crop out' any undesirable edges (Position/Main)

Thanks for your immediate reply, Ice.
We could solve this issue.
It was related to the new IEEE1394 Firewire driver that is shipped with Windows 7. When we change it and use the old Firewire legacy driver that is also available, everything works fine.
