We recorded a gig in prores, and have big difficulty on windows to use the files. We can't playback in VLC or Quicktime, and when we import into premiere, the program hangs. When we try to convert to mp4 in media encoder, we only get a file with video, but no sound. We tried on a windows 8 and on a windows 10 machine, also tried transcoding on both, but no succes. During the recording, everything seemed ok, the logs also look ok. It's the first time I tried the prores option for a longer gig, so it could be some compatibility problem? Logs are in attachment. File Attachment(s): vlcm9 - 10 september 2015 - 07-16-14 .mov - kopie.txt (751kb) downloaded 6 time(s). vlcm9 - 10 september 2015 - 08-32-29 .mov - kopie.txt (248kb) downloaded 1 time(s).You cannot view/download attachments. You probably didn't use mov (indexed), check this post of my http://forums.vmix.com/d....aspx?g=posts&t=5157I solved the issue by opening it in quicktime 7 (that took about 20 minutes before opening), export it as apple prores422 and checked the box 'Fast Internet Streaming'. With that the file makes an index file at the begin of the file. After that I could open the file in any program but had no sound. I recorded on the camera's also iso's, so i used that sound files in my quicktime files.
