Which is the best possible hardware for you?

dears
I want to assemble the best possible hardware configuration for my software. Now I have the SD version, but soon I want to switch to HD with 3 cameras. I want to exploit the full potential of the software including the ability to have many windows open as preview and record it all. Basically I want to have the best hardware possible to make the program work 100% without delay video / audio or crash. What do you recommend for both the computer hardware and both capture cards? Is USB 2 better, or USB 3? Thank you very much

Hi,
If your budget allows, I would recommend something like the following:
Intel Core i5/i7 processor (latest generation)
8GB DDR3
nVidia GTX 560 or similar
DeckLink Quad capture card (provides 4x HD-SDI inputs)
This provides the ability to mix and record up to 4 cameras.
If your cameras only have HDMI output you can purchase a BlackMagicDesign HDMI to SDI adapter and some adapter cables to get everything working.
The setup above is what we use within the vMix lab for testing and it has been working great.

Hi Martin!
I'm in the same situation of liviosajetti:
Need best configuration for SD recording, 2 SD cameras, 1 video delay and 2 overlays (for basketball games).
Now I have a PINNACLE USB 700 capture card.. i can still using it?

One more: Desktop or laptop? (we travel by car around 100km -62miles- each game to record it)
Laptop: portable (but less powerfull, no upgradeable or scalable)
Desktop: Cheap, more powerfull... (but complicated.. monitor and other accesories.. risk of damage in travel)

In this week i will buy a computer so i want to know how criticall is the graphics card to vMix for SD recording with 2 cameras.

Hi Martin,
I am also building the hardware to use you VMix software which, by the way, I find awesome!
I´ll follow your suggested minimum requirements and perhaps give it a little bit more power in terms of CPU and RAM.
I have two questions about capture cards:
1. Have you tried Osprey cards? I am thinking on using Osprey 440 or 460e
2. Is it possible to use two capture cards in order to have more than four cameras? What is the suggested array in case I need more than four cameras?
I'll appreciate your comments.
