Hello there!

I have a HonesTech VidBox 80X. I would like to connect my camcorder through there to stream on a vMix Basic Eition.

Is it possible to stream videos through HonesTech VidBox?

Thanks

@ fortsquarechurch

Have you tried it?
I am not familiar with HonesTech or their products, but they appear to be a simple USB analogue capture devices similar to 'EZcap' and the like, so if it is recognized by your PC then it is likely that vMix should also be able recognize it as a video source (provided there are no proprietary restrictions within the product), but the only way to know for sure is to test it out and it would seem you have the resources at hand to do that.
If you have issues after that, it may be worth putting in a request for support or further exploration into the properties of the product.

I've tried to test it, it didn't recognize it. Do I need to install the software in order to get it to work?

The HonesTech came with software.

The VidBoxes work great with vMix. Yes you need to install the Honestech drivers. Check on their website for the latest.

They are SD only but they are a really good way of bringing in audio even if you don't use the video side of the device. I have one client who is using it to digitize very old Umatic and VHS footage onto vMix Basic for archival purposes.
