MPEG Recording in Windows 10

Just upgraded to Windows 10 on my vMix machine. MPEG2 recording does not work - says it needs Windows Media Center installed. I can deal with recording to AVI for now, but, again, the MPEG2 files sizes and quality were/are a good balance for what we need. AVI is HUGE, but good quality - MP4 is great file size, but not easily editable and stutters on this machine so it's unusable.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

well as from win 8 you need to upgrade to professional and then install media centre to use mpeg2.
in win7 this was included, and mp4 crappy, i can not edit it directly in fcpx. as from win 8 mp4 is improved. waiting to test win 10.
i prefer mpeg2 under circomstanses where i need a fast edit of a recording, cut it into short parts. it needs no processing.
but i have switched to mp4 now for post processing, since this seems to be the way forward... i do that on an apple and is fadt as well.
greetings stefan

We also struggle with this. MEdia center is no longer included. We now use some other software for recording, but with the extended FFMPEG support in vmix 16 this should all be fixed I guess? Looks like a real reason to upgrade and pay Martin some well deserved bucks :)
