I have a ASUS g751-JT laptop which has a Nvidia 970 CUDA video card, 32gb ram and fast Samsung Pro 850 SSD. I am wondering if it is possible to ingest 4 1080i60 x SDI video inputs for streaming. I do not need to ISO record but would want to stream and record the program at the same time. The cameras I am using are Sony HXR/NX5U so I am not looking to bring in very high bandwidth signals but would like to be able to utilize the laptop I already have and have a very portable system.

Is your 'Thunderbolt' 1 or 2?

Your other option is to look into an expansion box and get an appropriate PCIe capture card.

The bottom line is, I think you will be fine with that laptop (storage might be my only concern, depending on how you operate).
