hi martin,

i`m using an Asus P6T and i have some problems recently due to some bugs. next few days i will change my motherboard and i need your opinion on 2 models.

1. GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R
2. ASUS SABERTOOTH X58

my hardware is:

*12gb RAM 1066Mhz DDR3
*Intel i7 920 2.66Mhz
*ATI 5750 1GB DDR5

whats the better choice for my setup? i know that these models above are very good choices but i want to know what motherboard is better to work with video.´

thank you in advance, regards,

Hi Melody,

If possible, I would recommend the newer Z77 based motherboards with the new 3rd generation Core i5/i7 processors.
The X58 is now a few years old.

That said, if these are the choices you have I would recommend the ASUS SABERTOOTH X58

Regards,

Martin

thank you Martin for your recommendation.

unfortunately, my cpu was built with LGA1366 socket and it forces me to buy an older motherboard.
in fact, this asus sabertooth x58 motherboard have usb3 onboard ports that will be useful for next few years.

thank you very much again Martin.

Regards, God Bless...
