Hello,

Ik have an question.
I'd like to import questions into the title editor via a csv file. When i have words with a diaeresis, for example Israël, it shows a question mark when i imported it.
Also i tried different lettertype, but that didn't helped.

Is there a way to avoid this and that the Title Editor import the questions as it should be.

I used Vmix 15.

Hope to hear from you.

Alfred

Hi Alfred,

vMix requires CSV files in "UTF-8" format for certain unicode characters to be displayed correctly.
Unfortunately Excel only outputs ANSI, so to fix this you can try opening the CSV file in notepad then saving it out as UTF-8 again.

Martin

Hello Martin,

Your solution works. Thanks.
Then i have another question.

Is it possible to make in Excel 4 colums. A: question, B: Answer 1, C: Answer 2, D: Answer 3.
Then exporting it as CSV, in UTF-8 and then import it into the text editor.

I'm trying this now, but then he places all the column in one row (Text1), and not in the other text.

Hope you can help me.

Regards,

Alfred

I have it already running.

- Make in Excel the columns with A,B,C,D etc.
- Export the document as .CSV windows based
- Open the .csv file it in Wordpad
- Replace the separating character ; for ,
- Save the file as UTF-8 .csv to prevent question marks instead of diaeresis
- Import it into the xaml file in Vmix (in the Title Editor you have to make 4 textfields
- And it is working!

One thing you have to pay attention: don't use a comma in your columns text, because otherwise Vmix is reconigzing it as a separating character.

Alfred

Martin,

i'm reopen this thread.
there is only the option to import CSV files in the title editors. Because CSV is standing for Comma Separated Value, the values will be separated by comma's.
But when i have a text with a comma in it, i can't place/import it. It will give an error. A text like: Bristol, city of...

Is there any solution to avoid this en make it happen that i can import normal sentences with comma's.

Hope to hear from you.

Alfred

Each entry should be in quotation marks to avoid this.
"Bristol, city of","Headline","etc"

Hi,

I tried this, but then, because of exporting it and setting it to a csv file, VMix accepts it, but add also the quotation mark...
Am i doing something wrong?

Alfred
