Hey guys!

As a owner of 4 new Intensity Pro 4K cards I've used quite a while now trying to make them work, this is kind of my conclusion of how to "make it work" and not, where as the drivers are now, not everything is possible:

Desktop Video 10.4.0:

- Can input in Media Express:
- All resolutions in YUV (from another Intensity Pro 4K output)
- All resolutions in RGB (PC, Game Consoles, etc.) when set to "AVI 10-bit RGB" in the preferences menu

- Can input in external program (WDM Capture into vMix, OBS, VLC, etc.):
- All resolutions in YUV (from another Intensity Pro 4K output)
- No resolutions in RGB due to lack of settings I suppose, hope anyone can correct me on this one
- In the software VirtualDub, when you open the Blackmagic WDM Capture and then head to the "Capture Filter" option, there are no RGB options, only YUV.

- non-WDM "Decklink Video Capture" shows the same, but in a different selection, no RGB, only YUV

Conclusion: Only Media Express can capture RGB inputs

Desktop Video 10.4.1:

- Can input in Media Express:
- All resolutions in YUV (from another Intensity Pro 4K output)
- All resolutions in RGB (PC, Game Consoles, etc.) even when set to "AVI 8-bit YUV" in the preferences menu

- WDM capture doesn't work with this driver seemingly, OBS opens it but no picture even with YUV input and vMix gives the following error: "AddNewInput Capture Device Is Not Supported, Device Reported the following: Video Capture" and VirutalDub too shows nothing

- Can input in external program (non-WDM Capture into vMix, OBS, VLC, etc.)
- All resolutions in YUV (from another Intensity Pro 4K output)
- In "VirtualDub" when you open the "Capture Filter" option, there are RGB options in the Filter menu and RGB inputs work! Sadly this same option in vMix and OBS does not work and in vMix nothing happens and in OBS the input turns all red.

Conclusion: Media Express and VirtualDub with advanced settings can capture RGB inputs, WDM doesn't work, even with YUV

To me it then seems like a working WDM capture with the 14.1 driver would fix the problems with RGB inputs as the RGB input work with the "AVI 8-bit YUV" which again seems what WDM Capture automatically sets it to. This was also the case for my old Intensity Pros as the worked in AVI 8-bit YUV but with WDM Capture.

If anyone has a hotfix or workaround for this I'd really appreciate it as I need RGB inputs in vMix asap.

TL;DR FOR MARTIN: to fix this, at least temporarily, you need to make the "Capture Filter" work the same way as it does in VirtualDub, as of now it seems like it does nothing?

Haavard

Hi Haavard,

The WDM and Decklink Video Capture option are problematic at the best of times which is why I recommend using
the "Intensity Pro 4K" dropdown option in vMix Add Input -> Camera instead.

This is the option I have control over, so if it doesn't work with RGB in 10.4.1 let me know and I can work on a fix
once I get a hold of the card in our lab.

Martin

I really thought the Decklink Name input, here the "Intensity Pro 4K" was the same as the Decklink Video Capture only renamed for ease of use, what's the technical difference then?

So yeah, I originally tried this with this one and now I tested with the Decklink Video Capture as well, both have the same issue. I wont say that this is a vMix specific issue so I am not going to blame you if you want to wait it out for a more stable/working driver from BM.

It is indeed the RGB input that doesn't work and if you open it up in VirtualDub and select the RGB filter it worked at least in my case.

Cheers,
Haavard
