NOTE: For the best reliability we recommend using Intensity/DeckLink range of capture cards instead of USB 2.0 based devices.

There is a limit to the number of USB capture devices that can be used at the same time due to a limitation in the USB 2.0 standard.

Each USB hub built in to a computer can handle up to 480Mbit of data at one time.
In comparison an uncompressed SD video source uses between 200-400Mbit of bandwidth.

This means only two USB capture devices can typically be installed on a single computer system using the built in USB ports.

There are a couple of ways to work around this limitation:

* Try to plug in the devices in USB ports as far away from each other as possible. If you have front and back USB ports, plug one device in the back and one in the front.
* Install an additional USB 2.0 or 3.0 input card (PCI or PCI Express)
* Remove any USB hubs being used as these can severely limit the bandwidth available.
