Welcome to Media Express 2.0. Blackmagic Media Express 2.0 is a sophistocated software application which enables DeckLink, Multibridge and Intensity users to capture, play back and preview video and audio via Blackmagic capture hardware. DeckLink and Multibridge users can also master to tape, using insert or assemble edit, with frame accurate RS-422 device control.
OK, is this necessary to use to use a Blackmagic card with vMix? Generally I prefer to have less software running at same time.
Am planning on getting Decklink SDI card, should I run Media Express at same time as vMix?
Any experience/opinions you have on this appreciated, have not yet used a Blackmagic product.
I see other posts on Media Express, but they seem to be side notes, not an appraisal of its need.
Cheers

@ darp
Not required (or suggested) to run simultaneously, but it is part and parcel of what comes with the card and installation CD, so you will likely have to install it by default. If there are any 'issues' with the card, you will also have to 'confirm' that the same issues are exhibited in Media Express, since that is the software the card is designed to work with and if it doesn't work there, you are more likely to get prompt support from Blackmagic.
