I'm wondering if it'd be possible to use a card like this so vmix could do all the audio mixing as well as video mix? Thus avoiding a sound mixer in some scenarios.

Don't understand what you mean by "avoiding a sound mixer". Maybe you mean an external muxer?

That card is for audio input/output. And you still need to mix the audio. As far as I can see from it's manual the driver (a WDM DirectSound driver) would allow vMix to see those, thus allowing you to mix audio in vMix.
