Have been using vMix for nearly 2 months now on several projects (a 1/2 hour medical show and 2 local/high school plays)... vMix worked like a charm and I am now a BIG fan. My trial is almost up which leads me to this question. The SD version says it will allow capture sizes up to 720x576. At times, I need to be able to record in widescreen 16x9, but not in HD... Does the SD version support this (just widescreen without the high def aspect). We do not broadcast in HD and no plans to in the future which is why we believe the SD version is the better choice for us.

Thanks and keep up the excellent work!

Hi,

In the vMix settings if you set the Output Size to 720x480 and set the Output Aspect Ratio to Widescreen and record to MPEG-2 format the output will be in widescreen.

If recording to AVI, the output will appear stretched vertically but you can convert this to widescreen in any video editing program.

Hope this helps,

Regards,

Martin
