It would be helpful if there were some enhancements for the audio soloing functionality:

  • Blink the main solo indicator at the top of the screen as well as any active solo buttons in the mixer panel.
  • A solo only option in the audio output routing (allow solo-only speaker(s)).
  • For solo to the headphone output, add options for override (current behavior), override L, override R, dim (dim master audio under soloed audio).
  • Option to allow multiple inputs to be soloed at the same time. Would kind of rely on the blink feature to allow the user to spot everything that is in solo.
  • Allow clicking on the main solo indicator to turn off all solos. Sometimes users lose track of what is in solo and have to quickly scan every audio input to see which one is in to turn it off. A single point to click would be helpful in rapid fire situations.

The reason for additional solo routing is it can cause issues when solo is in for an input and something is going on in the master audio that needs attention. Currently things get missed.

While I could send a master output through an external volume control to always-master monitors and use the headphone output to feed separate monitors for soloing, when solo is off, I then have master audio feeding multiple sets of speakers. Not to mention having to rig external controls.
