I produce live sport and I've used vMix for over ten years. Remote production
changed everything for us — and quietly broke something we thought was solved:
the score.
Working remote leaves three options, none of them good. Burn a camera on the
venue's board. Push the score to the final gallery and run it on a Stream Deck,
hundreds of miles away and a few seconds behind. Or run ScoreboardOCR, which
works but wants reconfiguring venue by venue. The score should come from where
the match is. So I built PPSystem Scoreboard.
The idea:
An overlay that reaches your gallery through a plain web address — browser
source, transparent background, nothing to install — and that you run from a
phone at the side of the pitch, with no account for whoever keeps the score.
And it isn't a generic counter: rugby runs the ten-minute sin-bin clock, darts
wants an exact checkout from 501.
A few things people use it for:
• Remote production: scorer at the venue, gallery at the studio, and the
overlay meets them at a URL — no camera burned on the board
• Multi-court tournaments: one console and one overlay per court
• Team sheets: the line-up goes on air with one tap, and the lower third for a
sanctioned player finds his name on its own
• Network drops: actions queue up and replay in order when it comes back,
never twice
Available now:
• 27 sports, each with its own rules
• Four looks, colours and club badges, adjustable mid-match
• Stream Deck: one key, one action
• Free trial, no sign-up and no card:
https://ppsystem.fr/en (the trial match carries a mark on air; an account removes it)
I'm after feedback from people who actually run live sport. If your sport is
missing, or a setting, a counter or a sanction: there's a form at the bottom of
the home page. That's how ice and field hockey got added this week. I read
everything.
