is there a way of setting an Automatic Transition out after a Transition in on a Overlay?

TRIGGERS !

More info when GIS "vmix gt title Automatic Transition Out"

or burned into the title animation (gt designer)

I don't think you understand, I have an title with 4 steps so I have put 2 in the 2 in the Transition In and 2 in the transition out, however when I activate the transition in i would like it to step all the way through to the end

what do we mean by TRIGGERS ! ?

where do I get this more information from?

Helpfiles and the plethora of video tutorials on the vMix YT channel including about use of triggers and designing titles/animations
Depending on the exact use and purpose one can use either triggers of program it within a title itself for the automation

You can also set the "Duration" in Overlay Settings and it will automatically Transition Out after that set time.
