I want to try using a joystick or other MIDI device to control the active PTZ camera. So I set up a shortcut, and it kind of works. It's just that my controller provides +/- 127 units of movement, and when I set up VMIX to control SetPanX, set up as a JogWheel, VMIX says that +2 on the jogwheel is 100% pan. So the slightest nudge of the controller moves the PTZ pretty far to the left, or right depending on which way I turn the control. So, does that thing that says +2=100%, does that need to be modified somehow? My tech boss thinks we just need to buy a supported controller, but as far as I can tell a midi knob is a midi knob is a midi knob. (also please note I'm using knob and joystick interchangeably in this description, as they both emit a linear value, and behave very similarly in other applications).

SetPan function value is absolute position; 0 is center, 0.5 = quarter, 1 - halfway etc
you can however do a +=value or -=value to step left or right away from the current pan position, the higher the value the bigger the step (example +=0.1)

Are you sure you are using the PTZ shortcuts? https://www.vmix.com/hel...PTZControlShortcuts.html

SetPanX is not for controlling PTZ cameras.

Don't think that Jogwheel is the correct type for a joystick. You can specify speeds or try if your joystick is pressure sensitive (most probably).
