Hi,

We have finally got most of our studio together. Still building/experimenting, but everyone is extremely impressed of the chroma key quality we get. In spite of sloppy light setup ;)

vMix shines! For our chroma key tests we kind of managed to get a 3D virtual preset using a combo of multiviews instead of Virtual sets. For a full day live broadcasted press conference (launch of a crowd funding project) we did Skype interviews with journalists in Sudan, India, and Liberia. Having lots of fun, a few pilot errors and one major crash (Win 8.1 froze, we are trying to figure out why).

Very nice, Richard.

Looks like vMix could use a "crop" feature in its screen capture to remove the Skype controls.

Thanks Tom!

vMix has lots of cropping features, which we did not use.

Two explanations, which in combinations explains why we did it the way we did it this time.

1. The whole production was on a very short plan. We fixed the Skype part the evenening before, and it took some time to figure out how we should route the audio in order to be able to make the connection with the remote location. This requires talking with the other person, and that conversation should not go into the live recording/stream.

2. We wanted a tad of reality, that is show it was for real and with Skype.

Most likely we will crop the next time.
