Hi everyone,
we have 4 vmix setups.
all of them have blackmagic decklink duo 2 as capture cards.
we are experiencing problems with audio in all af them.
from the oldest to the newest.

we are inputing 1080p25 or 1080i50 signal with 2 audio channels.
in some we also output 1080i50.

our latest build is according to the ruby reference system.
windows 11 pro build
driver version 14.5
vmix 29

Sometimes we have audio problems like cracklings.
Closing the external and reopening is a temporary solution.
some times we even have the problem in the input.

We need a card with no problems at all.
i am thinking if trying aja corvid or kona4 would solve the problem....

if someone has found a card with no problems please advice!!

thank you!

Thanks: 2 times
The first thing I’d try (before buying new cards)

1) Update Blackmagic Desktop Video to 15.3.1

the release notes coverage specifically calls out a fix related to audio embedding on DeckLink Duo 2 / compatibility issues.

If your symptom is “random crackles/garbling, fixed by restarting External Output,” this is the most on-target change you can make.

2) If you can’t update, test a rollback

Vmix has confirmed past driver compatibility breakage..

Even though you’re on 14.5, the point is: driver version absolutely matters with DeckLinks + vMix.

3) Make sure nothing else is “holding” the DeckLink resources

people have fixed deckLink Ecxternal output problems byu closing vMix inputs that were still using the DeckLink, even if those inputs werent live.
