Hello,

I’d like to know if any of you have managed to play large or very long video clips — for example, videos that are 60 or 90 minutes long.
Are there any restrictions regarding the maximum duration or file size?

An hour of video can easily take up several dozen gigabytes, and I’m wondering how well vMix handles such large files.
Also, which codec would you recommend for optimal playback performance?

I’ve found a few answers on this topic, but they’re quite old. Maybe recent updates have changed these limits?

Thanks in advance for your feedback and experiences!

Yes, I do this all the time. I've probably used 4 hour long videos, sometimes even longer. No issues. vMix does not keep the whole file in memory. Rather it "streams" the file from disk, so there is effectively no limit on file size. As for which codec, I personally use h.264 video with AAC audio without issue. I haven't tried all the codecs with vMix, so I can't offer much advice there.
